AudioSwitch for Skype
.
Go from headset to speaker phone and back, in a SNAP!
.
Using your iSight and want to switch to your
wireless headset for some privacy, or to roam around the house
?
.

AudioSwitch lets you change from headset to speaker phone, or any other audio device, instantly --just by using Hotkeys (keyboard shortcuts) or voice command.

.
Add NControl (wireless handheld keypad/mouse) for convenient control that fits in the palm of your hand.

Getting Started
.
Add Audio Devices:
  1. Uncheck the Hotkeys box.

  2. Press the plus (+) sign. Type a name for the audio device and select numbers to correspond to the position of the device in the Skype Preferences menu (Audio).

  3. Check the Hotkeys box.

  4. To delete a device, select it and press the minus (-) sign.

AudioSwitch automatically assigns a Hotkey to any audio devices added. This will be the Option (Opt) key (on some keyboards will be shown as Alt) combined with another alphanumeric key. For your convenience, you may edit the Hotkey or device, as desired. You can also add a name or description for the audio settings you have chosen.

You can now switch audio devices anytime,
just by entering the appropriate hotkey!

IMPORTANT: AudioSwitch must be running to use with Skype. Once running, AudioSwitch will recede to the background.

TIP: place AudioSwitch in your Start-Up Items Folder (go to "Systems Preferences" and click on "Accounts") and BOTH AudioSwitch AND Skype will launch automatically at start-up.

Using Voice Commands
.

To change audio devices by voice command instead of using a keyboard, you first need to activate Speakable Items, the free speech recognition technology already included in your Mac.

After you've activated Speakable Items
:

1. Quit AudioSwitch
2. Give the voice command, "Define keyboard command"
3. Enter the hotkey combination you set for the audio device (as shown below)
4. Enter a phrase (eg. "Switch to Headset" or "Speakerphone")
5. Repeat for all of your audio devices.
6. Re-open AudioSwitch
.

..
You can now change audio settings with your voice!

Untether yourself from your Mac

As part of your complete wireless VOIP solution, use
AudioSwitch for Skype with your favorite wireless keyboard and headset (including Bluetooth).
.
You can even have Skype announce when calls are coming in (see below) so that you don't even have to be in view of your screen to know a call is coming in. (eg. "Incoming Call from Kristy Hammond.")
.
1. Open Skype, and click "Skype" on the menu bar.
2. Click "Preferences" and "Events."
3. In the menu (right), select "Incoming Call" from the Event menu.
4. Put a check in the "Speak text" box.

.
Skype will now announce your caller by name.
You can edit the phrase as desired.
